My Etsy Shop

Hello lovelies, I hope you're all well! On Friday I finally plucked up the courage to do something that scared me because life is too short to stay in your comfort zone forever. I only went and opened my Etsy shop back up selling A5 prints of my illustrations.
It's something I've thought about doing for some time but, the constant self doubt I have with anything I do put me off. Recently, I've been thinking well you won't know if things will fail or work out until you actually try first.

I created all the illustrations by first off drawing them with of course a pencil, then I scan them into the computer and fine tune & clean bits of my drawing. For the Frida Kahlo illustration the colour was added using the magic of Photoshop.

My first print is of Audrey Hepburn, I decided to draw her as she's one of my favourite actresses and she's such an iconic actress
The next print I have in my shop is Twiggy because she is one of my favourite Sixties icons.
Last but, not least is Frida Kahlo because she was damn good artistand she was so fun to draw!
After, getting my illustrations printed professionally by Awesome Merch, I then got onto the exciting part of picking out packaging and deciding just how I wanted my packaging to look. Of course I browsed for ages on Etsy looking at lots of pretty washi tape and stickers. I bought some brown brown paper bags and added why spots to them using the end of a brush and white paint. I love the way the copper tape looked on the brown paper bags when I package everything up!
Here are the links for the places I got all my different pieces for my packaging
Both rolls of pretty washi tape both come from SandRBits Etsy shop
Please Do Not Bend stickers from Azmari Etsy shop
Brown Paper Bags from Eco Craft
Polyprop Self Seal Bag (to protect the prints) from Eco Craft
Hard Board Backed Envelopes from o.d.l Packaging on ebay
Round Stickers with my logo on printed by Printed
I would love it if you could check my Etsy shop out and let me know what you think

I am currently working on some new ideas to hopefully sell as prints at some point in the near future.

Is there anybody you would like to see me draw?

Thank you for reading!

My To Do List for November

Hello lovelies, today I'm going to share my To Do List for November with you, it's more of a general list of things I would like to have achieved by the end of the month than a super in depth day by day to do list.

- Started to learn the ukulele, I have wanted to do this
- Finally sort out printing my illustrations ready to sell
- Start selling my prints on my Etsy shop - if I'm successful in my printing quest
- Start exercising again (it's been a while)
- Decide on what colour and how I want my hair cutting
- Book my own appointment for my hair (yes, I panic when it comes to most interactions with other human beings)
- Have a conversation with at least one blogger - I'm far too scared to talk to people so this could be interesting!
- Get my head round SEO and other blog related things because I haven't the foggiest at the moment
- Do review of a beauty product probably a lip product
- Plan out my zine (mini magazine/booklet) ideas; A-Z of the Sixties & Bad Ass Women through out history
- Make a start on the illustrations for my first zine
- Finally sort out my room, so it no longer looks like I've just moved back home from uni (I did but back in June)
- Continue to be productive

I thought I'd do this short blog post as I'm currently working on a list of my current Favourite Bloggers and a Jazzy Boots Wishlist, which is taking me a bit of time with putting together images and such. I hope to have both of those up this week!

Thank you for reading!

My recent illustration work

Hello lovelies, I thought I would create a post to share with you my recent illustration work. Since leaving University in July I've felt very lost to say the least, I've been so used to just creating my illustrations for projects to deadlines. Of course after finishing uni you're then meant to go out into the big bad world get a job! After no success on the job front so far and feeling pretty rubbish about myself, I recently decided I would finally get into creating more illustrations and with interest I would sell prints of them.

I have two projects on the go at the moment, I'm currently creating the artwork for a local singer songwriters chart single cd, which is crazy to think my illustrations will be on a cd that people can buy! I've enjoyed the experience so far, I also now have Photoshop so my live will be made so much easier, well it's either that or make it on Paint but, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't quite cut it some how.
I am also in the works of collaborating with Soho Radio creating merchandise for their shop which is crazzzyyyyyyy! I will definitely tell you more when I know more and things have been set in stone.

As I said earlier I have also been working on making prints of illustrations, I hope to have ones printed of my Frida Kahlo , Audrey Hepburn and Twiggy illustrations.

Here's a few examples of my recent illustrations

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Do you have any suggestions on people you would like to see me draw?

Thank you for reading!

The re-opening of my Etsy Shop

Hello lovelies, I have finally re-opened my Etsy shop after alot of messing about and self doubting. My Etsy shop is selling original screen prints I have created of iconic people such as Martin Luther King, Mick Jagger and soon to be selling ones of Audrey Hepburn and Twiggy. I am currently in the process of getting my Bowie design on tote bags to sell in the future but, I am a bit of a perfectionist so I'm working at getting them the best I can at the moment. If I successfully sell the items in my shop now I plan to create other prints and designs

If you would like to check out my Etsy shop feel free to pop by

Who would you like to see prints of in my shop?

Have any questions? Either message me on Etsy or email me at katiel1994@hotmail.co.uk

Hey remember me?

Remember back in June when I was all like 'heyyy I'm back, I'll post more'? Yeah, that clearly didn't happen! What have I been up to?
Well, the biggest thing that's happened is definitely graduating from University, yes I survived the three years some how! I had a lovely day it went in the blink in of the eye even though I was up at six in the morning to get ready. To say I was nervous would be an understatement, I wasn't made for going on stage in front of hundreds of people or having my photo taken. A couple of weeks after graduation my sister turned 16!! What's that all about? Pretty sure she's still 11 in my head when really she's nearly as tall as me and a woman in Asda mistakes us for twins, I have a baby face, okay!

1. That first photograph is me on the day of my graduation, I love that dress so much! I was in the car for an hour and because the fabric it was made from easily creased I had to practically lie down in car on the way to graduation

2&3 Illustration wise since finishing Uni I've been doing portraits I fancied doing and I'm currently working on my first commission, which is both exciting and scary at the same time! I'm also, preparing to opening my etsy shop back up where I will be selling prints and tote bags with my illustrated designs on them. I'll possibly do a separate post all about that soon.

4. So the other week I made a trip to Manchester for a browse in my usual places and I was lucky enough to return back with a POP! Vinyl figure of one of my favourite characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, all thanks to my far too kind boyfriend! My collection of the figures are slowly growing, there's something about them that I love. I now have eyes on the Friends figures, Chandler you will be mine!

1. That first photo was just me trying out that golden butterfly crown filter on Snapchat, why does everyone else looks like goddesses when they use it and I still look about twelve years old?
2. The other week I saw this cute caterpillar, my dad saved it as it was casually crawling along our drive and it may not have ended well. But, look at the pattern on it's body, ohh jazzy!
3. Oh pretty cactus you may be thinking, well turns out those flowers are fake! Since when was it a thing to pop fake flowers on cacti? Definitely not happy with that, the other one I had was even worse you could actually see a big blob of glue!!
4. Last week I finally got round to framing my David Bowie portrait and added a spacey/nebula background. I also have a few postcards of Twiggy, the Beatles, Jean Shrimpton and other cool fashionable icons that Tom (my boyfriend) bought me which I plan to put on my bedroom wall.

Since moving back home after finishing my course at University my room has been a complete mess and it is currently an on going job. Fitting three years worth of stuff is proving to be quite a struggle, it's getting there but very slowly!

Hopefully I will getting typing more blog posts soon!
