Gilmore Girls tag

Hello lovely, I'm starting back with my blogging with a bit of a quick post answering the questions on this Gilmore Girls tag (I'm a little bit obsessed, okay?). I have got combined a few of the questions from a couple of different Gilmore Girls tags.

-What was your first introduction to Gilmore Girls?

November 2016, I saw everyone talking about the arrival of the revival (I'm a poet and I didn't know it) so I was like what's this 'Gilmore Girls people are going on about?' to which I googled it and thought hey I'll give it a watch! So with me often home alone towards the end of last year I found myself watching hours of it each day. 

-Who is your favourite character and why? 

Lorelei because she basically makes the whole show.

-Are you on Team Jess, Dean or Logan? Why? 

ahh you're starting something here but, I have to go with Jess every time!

What I like about Jess is he was the one who pushed Rory the most to aim high and had the most common interests with. Even years later when they weren't going out he still managed to get Rory thinking about returning to Yale and then in the revival where he planted the writing a book seed in Rory's head. 

Dean, at the start he was kind and cared about Rory a lot and even Lorelei liked him (not just for water tank changing services). But, he cheated on his wife with Rory.

I actually liked Logan but, the way he acted with Jess made me dislike him a bit, thinking he was better than him. Also, I don't feel like Rory was a particularly nice person when she was with him.

-How many of the books have you read from Rory's reading list? 

Surprisingly I've actually read 8 off her list of 339 book, I'm not much of a reader sadly (hoping to change that) but, I don't think that's too bad for me. 

-Would you rather; only be allowed to drink coffee, or never be able to eat Pop Tarts again? 

Sadly, I'm not a big fan of either if I'm being honest.

-Who is your least favourite character? 

Maybe Nicole and Strobe & Francine.

-Are you on Team Luke, or Team Christopher? 

Team Luke of course!

- In a fight between Taylor and Mrs. Kim who would win?

Mrs. Kim every time! You definitely haven't watched Gilmore girls if you don't find Mrs Kim slightly scary.

- How much do you dislike April?

I didn't dislike her but, she wasn't really a favourite character of mine as she could be annoying at times. I thought the whole 'Luke having a child' story line was a bit unnecessary really. 

- Dave or Zack?

Dave!

-If you went to Stars Hollow, where would you most like to visit? 

where wouldn't I? top of my list would definitely be Luke's Diner (I'll have a burger and fries please), Lorelei's house, the Dragonfly Inn and the Gazebo (just for how photogenic that thing is) & imagine sitting in there reading with a hot chocolate?

-What would you steal from the Gilmore Girls set? 

Lorelei's monkey lamp, probably a few of the outfits Lorelei wore.

-Finally, what did you think of the revival?

hmm I both like and dislike parts really. I wish there had been more on certain characters like Lane & Sookie. 

-What was your favourite part of the revival?
-Seeing Luke and Lorelei together
-When Emily quits the DAR
-Any part containing Rory and Jess moments

The Blog Recognition Award

Hello lovelies, today's blog post is a bit of a brief one nothing too long winded.

Katherine who blogs over on Millennial Rants ever so nicely tagged me to answer the questions from the Blog Recognition Award the other day, so of course I shall be answering the questions in this post.

How my blog started 
I actually started it years ago back in 2012 but, I never used it regularly. I decided to start up my blog so I had some where to talk about anything I wanted to.

Two pieces advice for new bloggers
Hmm I'm no expert when it comes to blogging and I still have so much to learn
what I would say though is
1. Be yourself and write about what you're passionate about as it reflects so much in your writing.
2. Don't be afraid to interact with other bloggers because you never know you might find some good friends through doing so. Taking part in Twitter blogger chats definitely helps ease you into talking to new people if you struggle with things like that like I do.


I'm not sure who else to tag, as I think pretty much all of my favourite bloggers have been tagged already although, I don't think the lovely Tanya of Scribbled Dreams has been so I would like to nominate her!

The Real Neat Blog Awards

Hello lovely, it's been a while since I last posted as I've been concentrating on my illustration work which I hope to do a post on soon just share with you my more recent pieces. But, I'm currently have technology problems so it might be a while till I can't get them up.

What's your favourite memory?

ahh I can't decide! So here are some of my top memories
meeting my boyfriend, going to Leeds festival, seeing Arctic Monkeys live, getting a hug off Johnny Marr, graduating university, getting some of my work in the Secret 7 exhibition, watching Mr Bean with my grandad on NYE one year, family holidays when I was younger, I could go on

Did anyone inspire you to start blogging?

Ohh this was a while a go now but, I think Olivia from What Olivia Did was the first blog I properly read and to this day is still a firm favourite of mine! 

Favourite and least favourite social media site?

My favourite social media site is Instagram, I also love Pinterest but, I'm not sure that's considered a social media site. I enjoy using both of them because I'm a very visual/creative person. My least favourite social media site is probably Facebook.

If you could go for a meal with ANY 5 people who would it be?

ahh this is so difficult, I'm assuming that also includes people that haved sadly passed away.

Where do you hope to be this time next year?

I would love to either be a full time freelance illustrator with an online shop selling prints of my illustrations OR be in a job that I am enjoying.

hmm probably getting to 600 followers on Bloglovin, getting so close to 700 eek!

About Me and the Get To Know Me Tag

Hello lovelies, since I have finally updated and given my blog a refresh so, I thought I would write a little bit about me for new and old followers to find out more about me!

If you haven't already guessed from the name of my blog, my name is Katie, I am 22 years old, from Greater Manchester and graduated from University in July with a degree in Illustration*. I love all things Sixities; especially the fashion (oh hello mini skirts and colourful patterns), music and interior design. I spend the majority of my time drawing and spending time with my lovely boyfriend and my family.

*basically creating images to decorate or help clarify & explain something may it be in magazines, books, animations and online.

So, let's crack on with the Get To Know Me Tag questions

1. What is your middle name?

My middle name is Marie that may be obvious due to my blog name.

 2. What was your favourite subject at school?

Hmm it has to be art the only lesson I could really bare.

3. What is your favourite drink?

Well, I'm going to be super boring and say Dandelion & Burdock OR freshly squeezed orange juice

4. What is your favourite song at the moment?

I actually don't have one at the moment, I haven't listened to much music.

5. What would you choose as your last meal?

Ohh gosh, hmm maybe a chilli with some nachos OR a spicy pasta dish with cheesy garlic bread

6. What was the last thing you bought?

I pushed the boat out and bought Photoshop (well the monthly plan)

7. Favourite book of all time?

I haven't read many books in my adult life but, I've recently started re-reading the Harry Potter books & I still love them as much as I did when I was a child, maybe more!

8. Favourite Colour?

Red, always red!

9. Do you have any pets?

I don't, I'm forever wishing I had a cat or a rabbit (preferably both).

10. Favourite Perfume?

My favourite has to be by Marc Jacobs and it's his Daisy Sorbet perfume.

11. Favourite Celebration?

Christmas everyday! Ahh I'm already so excited!!! Bring on hot chocolates, in pyjamas watching Christmas films.

12. What is your relationship status?

I've been with my lovely boyfriend for what will be 5 years in January! 

13. Do you speak any other language?

No, I don't sadly, I have a shocking memory so, it goes in and straight back out.

14. How many siblings do you have?

I have one younger sister, she's 6 years younger than me. However, a few people have thought we are either twins or I'm only slightly older (bloody baby face).

15. What is your favourite shop?

IKEA! I love going to Ikea! Also, asos as you're always bound to find something you like on there. Oh and Waterstones is a shop I love visiting.

16. Favourite Restaurant?

I don't really eat out often but, I do love Pizza Express. mmm someone bring me their dough balls!

17. When was the last time you cried?

Oh gosh erm probably the other day when I watch First Dates and an elderly man was explaining the last time he saw his son before he passed away. 

18. Favourite Blog?

It has to be whatoliviadid her content is always perfect; her style of writing and the photographs her and her boyfriend Joe create are always amazing! They look like they could be some form of advertisement in a magazine. Plus, I can never fault Olivia's style, especially with her nods to vintage fashion

19. Favourite Film? 

All of the Harry Potter film!

20. Favourite TV shows?

The Office but, Netflix took it off (yes I am still sad about that).

21. PC or Mac?

hmm I'm not sure really, I quite like how simple my laptop (PC) is, you don't get the wheel of doom/death coming on it all the time (this coming from past Mac experiences at uni).

22. What phone do you have?

I have the iPhone 5, I would have upgraded but, my hands are too small for the iPhone6!

23. How tall are you?

I am 5ft8 so fairly tall I guess.

24. Can you cook?

I can follow a recipe when I need to, does that count?
