Gilmore Girls tag

Hello lovely, I'm starting back with my blogging with a bit of a quick post answering the questions on this Gilmore Girls tag (I'm a little bit obsessed, okay?). I have got combined a few of the questions from a couple of different Gilmore Girls tags.

-What was your first introduction to Gilmore Girls?
November 2016, I saw everyone talking about the arrival of the revival (I'm a poet and I didn't know it) so I was like what's this 'Gilmore Girls people are going on about?' to which I googled it and thought hey I'll give it a watch! So with me often home alone towards the end of last year I found myself watching hours of it each day.

-Who is your favourite character and why?
Lorelei because she basically makes the whole show.

-Are you on Team Jess, Dean or Logan? Why?
ahh you're starting something here but, I have to go with Jess every time!
What I like about Jess is he was the one who pushed Rory the most to aim high and had the most common interests with. Even years later when they weren't going out he still managed to get Rory thinking about returning to Yale and then in the revival where he planted the writing a book seed in Rory's head.
Dean, at the start he was kind and cared about Rory a lot and even Lorelei liked him (not just for water tank changing services). But, he cheated on his wife with Rory.
I actually liked Logan but, the way he acted with Jess made me dislike him a bit, thinking he was better than him. Also, I don't feel like Rory was a particularly nice person when she was with him.

-How many of the books have you read from Rory's reading list?
Surprisingly I've actually read 8 off her list of 339 book, I'm not much of a reader sadly (hoping to change that) but, I don't think that's too bad for me.

-Would you rather; only be allowed to drink coffee, or never be able to eat Pop Tarts again?
Sadly, I'm not a big fan of either if I'm being honest.

-Who is your least favourite character?
Maybe Nicole and Strobe & Francine.

-Are you on Team Luke, or Team Christopher?
Team Luke of course!

In a fight between Taylor and Mrs. Kim who would win?
Mrs. Kim every time! You definitely haven't watched Gilmore girls if you don't find Mrs Kim slightly scary.

How much do you dislike April?
I didn't dislike her but, she wasn't really a favourite character of mine as she could be annoying at times. I thought the whole 'Luke having a child' story line was a bit unnecessary really.

- Dave or Zack?
Dave!

-If you went to Stars Hollow, where would you most like to visit?
where wouldn't I? top of my list would definitely be Luke's Diner (I'll have a burger and fries please), Lorelei's house, the Dragonfly Inn and the Gazebo (just for how photogenic that thing is) & imagine sitting in there reading with a hot chocolate?

-What would you steal from the Gilmore Girls set?
Lorelei's monkey lamp, probably a few of the outfits Lorelei wore.

-Finally, what did you think of the revival?
hmm I both like and dislike parts really. I wish there had been more on certain characters like Lane & Sookie.

-What was your favourite part of the revival?
-Seeing Luke and Lorelei together
-When Emily quits the DAR
-Any part containing Rory and Jess moments

I hope you enjoyed reading my answers to my

Back to life, back to reality

Hello lovelies, guess who's back, back again? It's me! What better time to get back into blogging than October, something about this time of year makes me want to blog.
It's been a while hasn't it? I'm really hoping to make blogging a regular thing from now on.
So, where have I been well still in my usual spot but, I've been working very had on first proper illustration job! In my 'spare' time I have also been creating new prints to put in my Etsy shop for Autumn and posting off orders from my shop.

Blog wise, I am hoping to give my layout/blog header a bit of an update soon because I'm not 100% happy with it at the moment. I want to start trying out some fashion posts and possibly an outfit post or two at some point. I hope to boost my confidence a little by doing them as I'm not a huge fan of having my photo taken. So, I thought maybe the more I have my photo taken the less it will bother me? I don't know it's just a thought.

Here are a few photographs from the past few months and a little bit about them

- the two window photos were from when I went for drive with my sister and mum & the view was pretty decent
- I went to Rudy's a little pizza place in Ancoats, Manchester with my lovely boyfriend a few weeks ago. The pizza was so tasty and the interior was Pinterest worthy.
- I was tagged in this photo one of my very nice customers posted on Instagram, it still feels crazy seeing my work up in someones home.
- I stayed at my boyfriends house for just over a week, which was really nice and involved a lot of stroking a cat *see photo. The cat isn't actually my boyfriends but, his neighbors cat that loves nothing more than sleeping in the conservatory at his house. I managed to get a lot of my work done whilst I was there in between cat stroking of course.
- My last few days staying at my boyfriends house involved lots of tissues and a couple disturbed nights sleep thanks to my sister giving me her cold. But, with a lot of help from some Vicks and some Honey & Lemon Menthol Sweets it didn't last too long.
- I have been making and selling a few badges which I really enjoy making.
- I've done a few personal drawings over the past months including this Haim drawing (this is a work in progress) photo. I will be doing a post soon on my recent illustrations.

Thank you so much for reading!

Nobodies Child New In Favourites

Hello lovelies, sorry I haven't posted recently I've been a bit busy with illustration work but, I'm back with another New In Favourites post this time coming from one of my favourite shops to browse Nobodies Child. I say to browse because since to discovering the shop that sells endless pieces that fall in love with I haven't actually had much money to spend on new clothes. I'm not sure if all these pieces are still in their New-In section as I started this post well over a week ago.

1. I think theses orange ditsy floral print shorts are so sweet with the flippy sort of skirt style to them. Also, them being high waisted means they are extra flattering.
2. This boxy style blue shirt looks so cute with the addition of a ruffle on the hem and sleeves.
3. Ruffles, ruffles everywhere! You could maybe wear this top with some patterned trousers or if your feeling jazzy a pair of flared pants with heeled boots.
4. Yes, this is another piece with ruffle on it. I love the colour red, so it's no surprise that this dress ended up in my favourites. This would be perfect for last few weeks we left of summer worn with with converses or tights & ankle boots with a leather jacket in the colder months to come.
5. okay so I think I may have a ruffle problem but, this time they are small ruffles on the straps of the gingham crop top.
 6. I love this dress! It would be perfect with my converses or doc martens. I think you could also wear in the autumn worn over a turtle neck long sleeved top.
7. The two bows on the back of this dress adds a really nice element to the dress. I also think the dress looks quite vintage because of the shade of orange used on the fabric (I hope that makes some sense).
8. I really like this sheer polka dot top which would be worn with a cute bralet. I would also probably wear this with a black denim midi skirt and some heeled boots.
9. another sheer shirt red ruffled sleeves (again with the ruffles Katie)
10. These patterned trousers would be so easy to wear with anything, with a bold slogan t-shirt or a blouse! I'm not sure but I think it is leopard print (my eyesight is terrible sorry).
11. If your like me your love wearing an oversized checkered shirt then this is the dress for you! It looks so comfy which is always a bonus! checkered shirt with tie front
12.  I just thought there was something sweet about this pink button up crop top, I think it's the style of it with it's slightly flared sleeves and how it just skims your waist which I think would make a flattering top to wear.
13. I love ditsy print and style of midi skirt with the two slits up the front. You could easily wear this outfit either casually or formally with different footwear. Some heals or heeled boots during the evening and maybe a pair of trainers for the day time.
15. This ginham A-line dress looks very 90's style to me and very flattering with it's high waistline, it's a really nice could be smart and casual dress.
16. How is cute this floral patterned turtle neck top? I might have to get this, I think it would be ideal for this time of you as we approach Autumn.
17. I really like this tie top although I'm not sure if I have the confidence to wear a top that shoes off that much tummy.
18. star patterned sheer top which once again could be worn with a black bralet or if you don't have the confidence how about cami vest top (one with lace detail would look so nice). Another way you could wear the sheer top would be by tucking it into a pair of high waisted black wash jeans and some heels.
19. gingham skirt you could either wear it with the matching gingham crop top as a co-ord or maybe tuck a t-shirt in with it for a more casual outfit.
20. blouse crop top either worn with your favourite pair of jeans or maybe a midi length denim skirt.
21. I really like the way wrap tops and dresses look really nice. I think that the pattern is the same as the turtle neck top that I mentioned before (no.16).

From this post I think we have all learnt that I need help with ruffle obsession.

I have drawn quite a few of my favourite sixties icons and I also started doing more fashion themed illustrations. I'm really enjoying adding bits of colour to my pencil drawings using Photoshop. I hope to do more fashion illustrations in the future because I love drawing clothes.

Here are a few of the drawings I've done recently

New Looks New In Favourites August 2017

Hello lovelies, I'm today with my favourites from New Look's New In section of their online store. I'm not sure if people are interested in seeing my favourites but, I thought it might be helpful for anybody wanting new clothing for their wardrobe that has a similar style as me. I'm thinking of making this like a series of posts, of course with different shops.
I found quite a few gems when browsing New Look the other night so here are my favourites
I am slightly in love with this embroidered skirt that reminds me of a William Morris pattern.
The ruffle neck is a really nice detail on this pin stripe shirt. You could style it casually with a pair of jeans and converses or maybe wear it more smart with a pinafore over top.
Slogan t-shirts are still very popular at the moment this t-shirt with New York on the chest is an easy and subtle way of wearing the trend. I think that the little New York slogan is cute with an apple logo as the O in York.
How amazing are the boots? *insert love heart eyes emoji*Now, I would be lying if I said I am pinks number one fan but, I really like dusky pink and very pale pink at the moment. There is just something about these velvet look boots that I love.
The white lace and mesh top looks lovely and delicate. As the top is sheer your could wear a nice bralet maybe nude or white OR you could maybe go for a pastel coloured one underneath the top. However, if you're not comfortable wearing a just a bralet underneath a vest top would be a good alternative, if you're lucky you might be able to find a lace trimmed vest.
This bright red dress is the perfect summer dress, with it being 100% cotton and it having a casual fit. The material of the top section of the dress being shirred (gathered) it adds a nice little element to the piece. I think it would look nice either with converses or with espadrille sandals.
I like the contrast of the white floral embroidery on the black bralet.
Well it's seems I was loving New York slogan tees when I was browsing New Look. The design looks slightly retro which is always a plus for me!
The yellow bardot style top looks very flattering with it being off the shoulder and it having a high peplum hem. Yet again I like shirring of the top half and the ruffle of the neck. It's also an easy way of wearing the bell sleeve trend.
embroidered   mesh  scalloped sleeves
I love the intricate floral embroidery that frames the sheer panel of the smock top. The key hole fastening at the back of the top and the scalloped edge sleeves are really nice details of the top.
I love how delicate the lace of the midi skirt looks, I feel like some lace can look tacky or cheap but, the lace of this New Look skirt look like it could be expensive. It would look nice with a pair of heeled boots or dressed down with trainers for casual occasion. My favourite thing about it is the actual colour of the piece.
As I said in the past I'm a big fan of gingham so it's no surprise to see this dress make its way to my favourites. I really like the sweet heart neck line and the tie front detail. I just think it would be the perfect summer dress worn with some white espadrilles.
Again I really like the peplum  style ruffle bottom to the yellow top. The embroidery on this top is really lovely and a bit different to a lot of embroidered pieces in the shops at the moment.
I think this dress gives a nice, casual bohemian look and I really like the slightly flared sleeves. I would wear this dress with my converses and my leather jacket.
I've been looking for a-line midi denim skirt just like this for a while. I think they would go perfectly with a band t-shirt or slogan t-shirt which ever you fancy tucked in and worn with a pair of converses.

I am a huge fan of this dress it's a combination of it being a Bardot style dress, frill trim to the neck line and it has pockets! POCKETS!! A dress with pockets is a rarity. Imagine the dress worn with some bright red lipstick? The dress also looks
The Ditsy print of this playsuit is really cute.
This off the shoulder tops looks super comfy and I love the wine colour of it.

Go Gingham Crazy!

Hello lovelies, welcome to my first proper blog post after coming back.
Gingham has been a very popular fashion trend since Spring, so this post is a little be late to the party. Here's a little bit of history on Gingham, the term was originally used to describe medium-weight balanced plain-woven fabric made from dyed cotton or cotton-blend yarn and was also striped. But, these days the word is uesd when talking about a lightweight plain-woven cotton cloth, typically checked in white and a bold colour.
I love the look of Gingham especially the traditional (Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz) blue & white, I think it looks really sweet. I have three pieces of gingham clothing (soon to be four) a top from Next, a skirt and trousers both from Topshop, I'm just a little bit of a fan it.

You'll be hard not to find a single gingham piece on your favourite high street shops but, these are just a few of my favourite finds:

1. Kimchi Blue Gingham Picnic Gingham Midi Dress - Urban Outfitters - £52 //  2. Washed Gingham Flute Sleeve Top - Topshop - £15 (in the sale)  // 3. Just A Girl Pullover - Free People - £88 // 4. Checked Top - H&M - £17.99 // 5. Embroidered Gingham Tube - Free People - £108  // 6. Sleeveless Dress - H&M - £34.99

1. This is such a nice dress, the ruched bodice and the ruffle neckline and sleeves look very flattering. I think it would look lovely with either worn with black converses or some espadrilles.

2. The flared sleeves on this top are really cute especially with the tiny little ruffles towards the top.

3. I like how this top is a really casual pullover/shirt, that you could easily just throw on in the morning and go (with shoes of course).

4. This is a lovely simple summer top with a twisted knot detail.

5. I love the intricate embroidery detailing and the cute little tassels attached to the hem. This top would be perfect for your holidays because it looks quite flowy!

6. This dress looks super flattering especially with the square, frilly neckline, midi length and high waistband.

7. Gingham Shirt  with Pephem - ASOS - £28 // 8. New Look Gingham Bardot Playsuit -ASOS - £14.99 // 9. Midi Skirt in Gingham with Asymmetric Hem & Tie Waist - ASOS - £32 // 10. Bershka Gingham Printed Playsuit - ASOS - £25.99 // 11. River Island Mixed Gingham Mini Cami Dress - ASOS - £30

7. The ruffle hem is such a nice addition to this blouse and I like that it also has a high neck.

8. This playsuit had to make the cut with it being red (my favourite colour) and off the shoulder style.

9. The colour of this midi skirt is so nice, the yellowy mustard makes a nice change from blue and white gingham. This would make a perfect Summer outfit worn with some espadrilles and straw basket.

10. I love this little playsuit that much my very very lovely boyfriend ever so kindly ordered it for me. It looks like it is made out of light weight material which is perfect for this time of year! My favourite parts of the playsuit are the tiny scalloped edging to the shorts and the tie wrap on the top.

11. I really like the contrast of the large gingham pattern and the small gingham pattern. Also, the high waistband will help elongate your legs if that's something you wanted.

Are you a fan of Gingham?

I'm back, back again!

Hello lovelies, it's been a while hasn't it, I'm not really sure why I've not blogged in so long. I think it's a combination of lacking inspiration and motivation.
I think I'm going to do a blog challenge to ease me back into writing again, I haven't chosen a certain one to take part in yet but, I hope it will be enjoyable for others to read. I also have some ideas for more blog posts maybe
- my summer fashion essentials
- bedroom tour
- recent drawings
- my favourite Pinterest pins
- future goals
- Instagram diary
- my favourite fashion designers

Anyway, enough about me I hope you're all well!

Thank for reading this very, very brief post!

Monki Clothing Wishlist

Hello lovelies, so the other week one of my favourite fashion bloggers What Olivia Did talked about her love for the clothing company Monki in her recent April Favourites YouTube video so of course shortly after I had to have a browse. I found so many amazing pieces which isn't good when you haven't the money to spend but, I thought I'd show the pieces I loved anyway.

Here are my favourite finds online:
((Warning: Heavily features denim of all washes))

 1. This t-shirt is perfect for me as I used to say to my friends 'You Go Girl' whenever they were successful at something and I also really like the 70's style to the top.
2. I'm in need for a plain A-line skirt and this is the perfect berry colour. It could be worn with blouses or for a more laid back look with a t-shirt tucked in.
3. These sunglasses remind me of Ray Bans
4. I think this baby pink frilly t-shirt would look so cute worn with some Mom jeans and Superga trainers or maybe some Vans.
5. When I have a bit more money I really need to invest in a denim skirt like this, it's such a a flattering style and length.
6. This jumper looks so comfy and soft & I love the red edge to the sleeves. You could wear it over a little tea dress and converses when it gets cooler during the evening on Summer days. In the colder months it would look nice tucked into some black high waisted jeans and some boots.
8. I really like the contrast of the two denim panels I think it makes it look a bit more interesting than your usual denim skirt.
9. I love these rainbow socks!
10. I'm obsessed with cats these days and waiting for the day I can have my own so, this t-shirt is very appropriate.
11. I am a big fan of the colour of this t-shirt, as girl who where's a hella lot of black it's not often that I pick out a colourful t-shirt as a favourite.
12. Ahh how cute are these jeans with cat faces on the knees??
13. I really like this oversized denim jacket, I think it would go with everything in my wardrobe.

14. I have some gingham trousers with a larger pattern and baggier in style but, I love the slim fit of these and I think they would look perfect with some healed boots, a blouse and a leather jacket.
15. I think this white tie strap top is cute and would be perfect for summer worn with short & espadrilles.
16. The only item of make up I put on my wishlist/favourites as I'm definitely more of a fashion lover than beauty. But, I love the shimmer of this creme highlight!
17. I thought these sparkly pink opaque socks would look nice worn with some platform (not that I ever wear them but, if I did I'd definitely wear that combo)
18. There's bloody pineapples on a pair of socks for goodness sake!
19. I'm a sucker for a good striped top and the use of colours would nicely brighten up an outfit.

20. This dungaree dress would look so nice with a band t-shirt and converses or a blouse and some flats. I really like the skater skirt style and I think it would be super flattering.
21. What I like about this dress is that it could easily be worn casually during the day or with some heeled boots for the evening.
22. I thought this jacket was a lovely, it's so different with the botanical floral print.
23. At the moment I am on the search for some black see-through socks that can be worn with the new shoes I have.
24. This dress reminds me a bit of Fred Perry dresses with the striped collar and sleeves.

27. This denim would be great with a top layered underneath
28. What can I say it's a bloody rose gold bag?
29. The ruffles down the front of this play suit is such a lovely detail
30. I love these Daisy socks!
31. Not my usual go to style of top but there something nice about the
32. This t-shirt is so cute with the tiny love hearts on the chest!

I thought I would do a separate section for swimwear as I got a bit carried away

1. &2.  how cut are the little ruffles on each shoulder of both the bikini top and swimming costume.
3. I really like the triangle shape to the bikini top.
4. Gingham is such a popular pattern/trend right now and I have quite a bit of love for the ol' gingham, it being read is also in it's favour!
5. The style of this swimming costume/swimsuit looks super flattering with the cut out section and the way it is cut above your belly button if like me you aren't too fond of your belly.

6. This bikini seems like it would be very flattering with the high waisted bottoms and the balcony style bikini top.
7. Oh gingham again! I really like the contrast of the blue gingham pattern and the white bottom half.
8. I think this off the shoulder style of swimming costume is really nice and unique.
9. I put the pink version of the off the shoulder swimming costume on here to because I like the colour.
10. I love the halter neck style of this swimming costume, something a little different to your usual styles.

Oh yeah I love socks, I have far too many for it considered a healthy amount of socks to own

What I learnt from this wishlist and exploring Monki online is that:
- I love denim
- I like some colour, not much but, some
- Monki do amazing swimwear
- I need to go on holiday to wear said swimwear
- I need money for said holiday

If you got all the way through this post you're doing well!
Would you like to see me share my favourite swimming costumes in shops at the moment?

Thank you for reading!

Why I Blog?

Hello lovelies, so I thought I would have a little bit of a waffle (not the kind you eat basically me typing a lot) about why I blog and the future of my blog.

Let's start from the beginning I started blogging back in 2012 so I could have my own little space where I could talk about anything and everything that I wanted to whenever I felt like it.

So for a year now I've been overthinking and comparing myself to other bloggers which put me off blogging because I never thought my blog was good enough so I've posted less and less. Recently, I've come to realize that how many followers and likes isn't everything. Yes, if you want to earn a living from blogging then yes that is a very important factor but, my blog is purely to chat on about things I'm interested or about my life.

I've been thinking recently when I'm old and looking back on my life will I really think
- I wish I'd had more followers on Social Media
- I wish I had took more flat lays
- I wish I had took more photos of my food
And at the end of the day I highly doubt I will

In the future I want to think less and continue to type what comes to mind because at the end of the day I'm no writer, as you can probably tell from my posts so far. I hope to finally pluck up the courage to start posting outfit posts again on my blog (I know I mention this every time I talk about my blog). I also hope to do some beauty posts (not that know anything about beauty at all), share my illustrations with you, of course more wishlists and just discuss any topic I fancy covering.

I'm not really sure where I'm going with this post anymore so, I shall leave it at that. If you have read all of this post thank you for putting up with my rambling!

Thank you for reading!

He Official Spring Clothing Wishlist

Hello lovelies, I'm finally back with a new blog post, we are now in Spring so have all your pastel colour clothes at the ready or black if you're like me. For me Spring fashion is all about little smock dresses and blouses making an appearance in my wardrobe. The other day I browsed on He, an online clothing shop that I discovered not too long ago, they always have so many lovely pieces in store that desperately wished that I owned.
What I like about all the pieces I selected for my wishlist is the fact they could easily be worn all year round with a few changes in styling. Like every wishlist blog post I do this is not sponsored or anything like that, it's just a post I felt like sharing. I'm not exaggerating I could have put every piece they sell on my wishlist but I thought I better keep it short for post, so here are a few I loved the look of.

I think this dress would look so cute teamed with a pair of converses.
I love this oversized denim shirt, it looks super comfy. For some reason I can imagine having a really chilled day drawing and painting.
I really like the embroidery detail on this top and the cute little tassel trim.
What I love about this blouse is the flowy bohemian feel it has to it.
This top makes me think of Audrey Hepburn so much, it's definitely her style! It would be easy to style with a pair of black skinny jeans and some ballet flats.
This is such a cute top, I really love the ruffle detail half way down the top. I think it would look lovely worn with jeans or a tucked into a skirt or even under a pair of dungarees!
It would look nice with a nice white blouse like the Matilda Dolly Top underneath it.
This has to be my favourite pieces that I saw online, I'd probably wear them with some mom jeans and oh yeah some converses.
There's something really nice about this dress and it definitely fits it's description 'delicate'.
This top is a little similar to the Frill Check Top but, it has three quarter length sleeves and the fabric looks quite light which be perfect for the warmer months. Wearing the top with black cut off shorts with converses or espadrilles for the ultimate Alexa Chung style!
Another lovely blouse by He which from a distance looks some what like a light denim wash however it is actually a pin striped pattern.
It could be worn during the day with converses (of course) or some little flats and then worn in the evening with heels or some metallic ankle boots. This also reminds me a bit of the dress Adele wore in one of her music videos which can only be a good thing!

I hope to have some more posts up soon!
Thank you for reading!
