Back to blogging

Hello lovelies, I'm hopefully going to get  back in to posting on my blog. At the moment I'm struggling even more with feeling negative about what I do or what I've achieved (or what I've not) and comparing myself to others. But, enough of that for one post!
Blog post wise I'm still working on sorting the design and layout of it. I'm also trying to get my head round the likes of SEO and the such.
I would love to do some outfit posts but, I'm still trying to pluck up some courage to do so! Confidence is the main thing that holds me back however, so does my lack of a decent camera! I would use my iPhone like I have in the past but, then I start comparing myself to other well established bloggers and the professional photographs that look they have been taken for a fashion campaign. Doing this has definitely put me off doing outfit posts in the posts. I may just start doing it just for the fun and try not to care so much about how professional looking they are.

I've started jotting down ideas of possible blog post ideas, so these are my up coming blog posts

- My current favourite bloggers
- Reviews on recent make up and beauty buys
- Interviews with my favourite bloggers (hopefully)
- Recent home wear bits for my bedroom
- My daily make-up routine
- My favourite recent clothing buys
- Programmes/box sets that I watched whilst at uni
- Starting up my Etsy shop
- Trying out Pinterest hair styles and make up tutorials
- A tour of my room and my favourite parts of it

I want my blog to be a truthful blog, I wont be pretending that I'm a fashion or beauty expert because I'm far from both. You've definitely come to the wrong blog if you're looking for beautiful photographs or tales of holidays after holidays. But, I will be honest and truthful with what I'm writing.

Thank you for reading!

Hey remember me?

Remember back in June when I was all like 'heyyy I'm back, I'll post more'? Yeah, that clearly didn't happen! What have I been up to?
Well, the biggest thing that's happened is definitely graduating from University, yes I survived the three years some how! I had a lovely day it went in the blink in of the eye even though I was up at six in the morning to get ready. To say I was nervous would be an understatement, I wasn't made for going on stage in front of hundreds of people or having my photo taken. A couple of weeks after graduation my sister turned 16!! What's that all about? Pretty sure she's still 11 in my head when really she's nearly as tall as me and a woman in Asda mistakes us for twins, I have a baby face, okay!

1. That first photograph is me on the day of my graduation, I love that dress so much! I was in the car for an hour and because the fabric it was made from easily creased I had to practically lie down in car on the way to graduation

2&3 Illustration wise since finishing Uni I've been doing portraits I fancied doing and I'm currently working on my first commission, which is both exciting and scary at the same time! I'm also, preparing to opening my etsy shop back up where I will be selling prints and tote bags with my illustrated designs on them. I'll possibly do a separate post all about that soon.

4. So the other week I made a trip to Manchester for a browse in my usual places and I was lucky enough to return back with a POP! Vinyl figure of one of my favourite characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, all thanks to my far too kind boyfriend! My collection of the figures are slowly growing, there's something about them that I love. I now have eyes on the Friends figures, Chandler you will be mine!

1. That first photo was just me trying out that golden butterfly crown filter on Snapchat, why does everyone else looks like goddesses when they use it and I still look about twelve years old?
2. The other week I saw this cute caterpillar, my dad saved it as it was casually crawling along our drive and it may not have ended well. But, look at the pattern on it's body, ohh jazzy!
3. Oh pretty cactus you may be thinking, well turns out those flowers are fake! Since when was it a thing to pop fake flowers on cacti? Definitely not happy with that, the other one I had was even worse you could actually see a big blob of glue!!
4. Last week I finally got round to framing my David Bowie portrait and added a spacey/nebula background. I also have a few postcards of Twiggy, the Beatles, Jean Shrimpton and other cool fashionable icons that Tom (my boyfriend) bought me which I plan to put on my bedroom wall.

Since moving back home after finishing my course at University my room has been a complete mess and it is currently an on going job. Fitting three years worth of stuff is proving to be quite a struggle, it's getting there but very slowly!

Hopefully I will getting typing more blog posts soon!

I'm finally backkkk!

Hello lovelies, as you may have gathered from the title I'm finally back!

I have now finished my three years at university, my degree show and graduation aside. I feel slightly lost, not having work to do anymore, sat at my desk for hours and hours drawing.

Now, I I have nothing I should be doing, I hope to post on here more!

Blogging and Life

I feel like this blog post may just sound like my other blog post named General Insecurities and Blogging from a few months ago but here goes.

I'm a big over thinker and recently I've been doing a lot of thinking, mainly about my blog and what the hell I'm going to do after uni.

The question 'What are you going to do after uni?' is definitely a question I dread people asking me and I've been asked far too many times for my liking. Of course I would love to go on to do illustration after my University course but, I don't think I'm good enough to successfully have that as my job. If you know where they are handing out confidence please let me know haha

I would love to mix my illustrations with my blog, which would consist of having my own illustrated blog header, drawn out outfits of the week and maybe illustrated tutorials. However, that won't be for some time yet as I'm busy with uni for the next three months or so. Posting more often is something I really want to do but, at the moment I'm concentrating.

Another, thing that's holding me back with my blog is my self doubting, I'm always questioning 'will anybody even read this?' because I'm literally the most boring person ever!

I'll probably delete this because it basically just me rambling about having no confidence.

Zara Wishlist

Here I am with another wishlist to share with you, I might do a series of wishlists but, I'm not sure yet. For once the clothes on my wishlist are not 90 % black, crazy I know! I'm still yet to buy an item of my dreams from Zara due to lack of funds being a student and all.

So, I had a quick browse on Zara the other night and these are my favourite picks
The pleated collar on the light denim blouse is really nice and would go well worn under a pinafore. I really like the cropped style of the mustard coloured top and the frills give a nice shape to it. I'm a huge fan of the wildflower print on the white (they do it in black but I was trying not to pick black for once). Ohh talking about black, I thought there was something lovely about the low cut back of the black white striped top. Also, the boat neckline of the top reminded me of some of the clothes Audrey Hepburn wore.
I think anyone that wears eyeliner will love the t-shirt with the slogan 'Look Me In The Eyeliner And Say That' on it and it looks like a great lazy day top (you know what I mean). I must have been feeling a bit mustard crazy when I was looking on Zara the other day, with me also picking out an A-line skirt in the exact same shade as the crop top above. You can't beat a good white blouse that goes perfectly with any jazzy skirt you own, I especially love the lace detail of this one from Zara. I'm big fan of one of the current shoe trends; the square toe ankle boots that are very Sixties esque.

What's on your current clothes wishlist?

Thanks for reading!
